As a therapist, I integrate various treatment approaches in order to promote balance and growth. I assume that while life circumstances may cause disruptions in our well-being, there are natural forces within us that can be harnessed in order to return to health. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I have had many years experience working with various difficulties including: Trauma/PTSD Psychedelic Integration Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Eating Disorders and Body-Image Issues Childhood Sexual Abuse Grief Sexual Assault Relationship Problems Women's Issues I have received special certification in the following approaches: 200+ hrs Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy and Integration through IPI & MAPS training as of 11/23, Internal Family Systems Level 3, EMDR Parts 1 and 2; Brainspotting Phase 1 & 2; Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1. Some of the approaches to treatment that I use include the following:
Internal family systems (IFS) therapy offers a clear, non-pathologizing, and empowering view of human cognitive and emotional life, providing a dynamic therapeutic approach that allows therapists and clients to enter transformational relationships in which healing can occur. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a body-based treatment for trauma. It incorporates mindfulness with simple interventions for tracking, naming, and safely exploring trauma-related body activation. The basic idea is that when we are traumatized we store these experiences in our bodies; therefore we must access the state of our bodies in order to heal. The sensorimotor approach works with the body but does not involve touch. This approach is consistent with recent scientific research in the physiology of emotions and attachment. Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is based on the observation that trauma or disturbing life events can impair a person's innate ability to process and to integrate experiences within the central nervous system. EMDR is a non-invasive therapy that allows clients to resume normal information processing and integration. The positive effects of EMDR are supported by a substantial body of scientifically validated research. Brainspotting: Brainspotting is a new therapy technique discovered by David Grand,Ph.D.that is related to EMDR Generally, the "brainspot" is located by finding an eye position where the emotion is most strongly felt. Focusing on these spots allows the brain and body to process and release emotional/body pain as well as help with a variety of challenging symptoms. I have found it extremely effective with chronic issues that other methods have not been able to relieve. Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS): is an ego state therapy designed to treat a wide range of issues, especially those caused by a history of abuse and neglect. Clients find this therapy a powerful way to heal the unmet developmental needs that were not met in the past. SEE RESOURCES FOR MORE INFO ON THESE THERAPIES Click On Contact me Below to schedule now.
